2026 Cape Epic Champions
In one of the toughest editions of the Absa Cape Epic stage race, Matt Beers and Tristan Nortje delivered a decisive victory.
Taking the lead early, then losing it, they struck back to win the Queen Stage and reclaim control, holding on to clinch the overall.
For Matt, this marks his fourth Cape Epic victory, but one that is especially meaningful. “To win it with Tristan, someone I’ve mentored and raced with for so long, is really special. It’s a full-circle moment.” he said.
“It’s always been a dream to win the Cape Epic.” Tristan said. “To do it as the first South African team, and with Matt, makes it even more special.”
Across 707 km, with 15,900 meters of climbing and descending on brutal terrain, Cape Epic exposed every weakness. Riders and equipment had nowhere to hide.
From prologue to podium, Beers and Nortje trusted Epic 8 and head-to-toe Specialized equipment, a complete system built to win. Proven again.
The winningest bike in Cape Epic history, Epic continues to define what it takes to win.
