On the most demanding course in the event's history, Demi Vollering claimed the yellow jersey and three stage victories. Lorena Wiebes added two stage wins and the green jersey, while Kim Le Court-Pienaar delivered another stage victory, bringing the total to six stage wins for the all-new Tarmac SL9.

Perhaps Demi said it best when asked what was going through her mind as she crossed the finish line in yellow:
