BB65 Look Bottom Bracket

Look created their own bottom bracket standard to work with their own oversized carbon-fiber cranks. The BB65 standard refers to the inner diameter of the bottom bracket shell on several Look frames and works only with their Zed line of cranks. This kit provides the bearings, as they need to be pressed in.

There are two bearing choices. The first choice is our low drag, long life Standard Bearing, with hardened-steel races and our super round CeramicSpeed balls. The second choice is our Coated Bearing, which uses those same balls installed on coated, hardened-steel races for longer life and less bearing drag.

In The Box

  • 2 bearings.
  • 2 dust covers.
  • All Round Grease.
  • Sticker sheet

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Look has possibly taken integration farther than any other bike company. Their BB65 bottom bracket and Zed cranks are well beyond the competition, with a massive, stiff, and light one-piece crank that only works with their massive bb opening.

There are three grades of grease. Race Day, All Round, and Long Life. The first is the least drag, the last is the most durable. All Round comes in road bearings, Long Life in MTB. You can change the grease to tune performance.

CeramicSpeed standard bearings typically have frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set. That’s in the range of a 75% drag reduction compared to standard bottom brackets. That’s thanks to balls that are 100% smoother and 15% harder than the ceramic competition. The bearings last at least three times longer than other bearings.

INSTALLATION

If you don't have any experience installing bottom brackets and bearings, we recommend that you have your local bike shop fit your new bearings. Find your nearest retailer.

MAINTENANCE

We recommend that you follow our instructions on how to maintain your CeramicSpeed Bottom Brackets to achieve the lowest friction and the best longevity.
